Not being American but British, I looked up the pronunciation for "business" in the Merriam Webster online dictionary as my pronunciation accords with Dick's. It said there that you can say /bizniz/ or /biznis/ but again the "i" in the word was NOT pronounced. I use IPA in lessons before as I have mentioned before and I wonder if Ria did what I have done in the past on occasion and made the mistake of putting the pronunciation of the word into symbols by reading silently rather than speaking aloud, perfectly understandable but a warning that we have to be careful with even the simplest of words when we are explaining pronunciation, especially in a way when we can't actually hear the result.
