Can you(or someone) record some of these differences and share them with the rest of us? This would make for a good expanded unit on differences in pronunciation, listening classes. Maybe glean some of the Internet workings of the BBC,also Australian sites? Anyway, it would be interesting! Shiela Dick wrtote: >>>I don't just teach what I say. I tailor my teaching to what large groups of people say. I teach UK English but I explain when US English is different enough to warrant it, eg. the Can/Can't distinction, which in southern UK English depends on the contrast between the schwa in can and the long a (as in father). In US English it's rather different. --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ _o_ ~ c(___)/` U http://wikigogy.org our wiki TEFLChina Rules & Help: http://wikigogy.org/TEFLChina |
