Present Perfect VS Past Simple

Hi All,
   
  Can you kindly give me some advice how to use present perfect and past simple?
   
  I am still confused how to specify both of them. On practical, might people 
don't mention about it, but if we write a report then the problem will come up.
   
  I've given two sentences below; believe that the grammar is quite correctJ
   
  Q: when do we use sentence no 1 and 2?
   
  1. I got your email
  2. I have got your e-mail
