What is a noun?:

Let's start with the basic, Noun.

A noun (kata nama am) is any word that provides an object a name.  The
object can be a person, place, thing, activity, etc.

For example:

person - Zhe Xiang (that's me)
thing - car
animal  - cat
place - school

A noun can serve as a Subject or object, etc.

Eg 1: Zhe Xiang like English course (Here, Zhe Xiang is the Subject).

Eg 2: He kick a ball (The ball is the object).
