Sorry, still quite new with vim. If I use ":open" within vim it works. Same with ":new" The only way this doesn't work is if I open the file from the command line with $vim /path/to/file/file.etc And it just so happens that most of the time that's how I open files and create new files and that's also how I was testing this. |
