Thanks for the reply. I get no errors at all. Nothing happens. Well,
first press of the tab key just backspaces 1 character, subsequent
presses do nothing. I've tried with a clean .vimrc as well.

In fact there is a bug similar for someone on a linux distro:

It installed ok, although I had to manually create the directories as

It's a bit of a longshot asking for help really. I was just hoping
someone had had the same thing happen and had figure it out.
