My database frequently get broken beyond “patch” repair, so I do a
hard reset, meaning clearing it entirely and letting it source the
places I keep my applications, for that I use this command:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/
LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r ~/Oak/
Deployment /System/Library/CoreServices /Applications /Developer/
Applications
Unfortunately it means I get all those “are you sure” when double
clicking documents for the first time after the reset.
