Subject: Removing an index entry - msg#00419

List: editors.lyx.general

Date: Prev Next Index Thread: Prev Next Index
After I use Insert->Index Entry I get a little, grey box with IDX in it
instead of the word or phrase that used to be there. How do I reverse the
process? I see nothing in the menu system and it seems that all I can do is
delete the box and retype the text. Is there a more efficient way?

Thanks,

Rich

Index Entries, More Questions

1.) How do I designate subitems with the LyX Index Entry system? Do I use LaTeX to enter {\subitem{...}}? 2.) How do I specify modifiers of the key word/term? This seems to be done within the Index Entry box itself. Is there another way? Wish there were step-by-step instructions for us novices. Thanks, Rich -- Dr. Richard B. some greek letters messed up - not all

Hello, I am working on Debian testing, with lyx 1.3.4. Some capital greek letters in math mode are not showing or are showing up something else. Capital Gamma shows a little square box. Capital Delta shows a little kind of accent or something... Most greek characters are OK though... Does anybody know what the problem might be? Alex.

Creating and working with index entries works in the same way as for ERT. When I select "Insert -> Index Entry" a dialog box opens with only a single input window for the term. Is this where I enter the "see"? Yes, you can enter all index-specific commands to this window. (The allowed commands are described in "The LaTEX Companion 2nd Edition".) regards Uwe
