It appears to me that the [Buttons\*] entries in editplus.ini configure
the buttons on specific toolbars, including the order of the buttons;
however, I'm not sure how or where a toolbar is set to be shown or where
it is located.

Thanks a lot. But still I don't think it preserves locations of
toolbars and modifications such as deletion of some buttons.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: How do I save the toolbar settings?

Hello: EditPlus has over the years changed from storing info in a single INI file, to storing it in the Registry, to storing some in an INI file, to storing most in split INI files and the Registry; making migrations a nightmare. I believe that as it stands today, it stores all its settings in INI files, and I have been able to successfully migrate an entire installation of EditPlus to a different machine by just bringing in the INI and other related files. And I mean *entire* installation, including projects, macros, spelling dictionaries, settings, templates, colors, opened files, toolbars, user tools, etc. The position and composition of toolbars is stored in an INI file -- I can't recall right now which one (I don't have EditPlus at hand), but I believe its the main one (EditPlus.ini). Like many other applications, if nothing is stored in the INI file, it will use the defaults, but if you made changes, it will override the defaults by storing the settings in the INI file. This means that it doesn't store "modifications" or "deletion" of buttons, but your new toolbar composition. Make sure you are looking at the EditPlus.ini file that your installation is actually using. This file used to be exclusively in the installation directory, but I think it now resides in your profile home directory or such. dZ. On Jan 22, 2008, at 18:14, joon_ro wrote: > Thanks a lot. Fair enough. I just found this information in the registry. dZ.
