I rarely get documents missing, but what bugs me in loading files at startup is
syntax highlighting sometimes disappears %(

Re: document reloading on startup

I for one would be opposed to files loading out of sequence when they can't be found, but: I also think that the files it can't find should be opened in a virtual > way maybe with a blank file and tagged as pending, pending the > portable/network drive to be reconnected, or come back on line. Once you > reconnect the drive you can say "try those pending files again", or just > wait for editplus to realise that they are different from the ones it > has loaded! > sounds like a really nice idea if it can be cleanly implemented. A step back: it's funny that no matter how much we love and endorse EditPlus, we still have ideas for improvement, and it never costs us more that ~$30/license! Good stuff. Re: help with ftp + compile

>From the putty help: "In SSH, you don't have to run a general shell session on the server. Instead, you can choose to run a single specific command (such as a mail user agent, for example). If you want to do this, enter the command in the ‘Remote command’ box." Can you use this to call the remote build? Alternatively, can you build locally, and upload the class files to the remote machine? > help with ftp + compile > Posted by: "arabhass" hassanarab-PkbjNfxxIARBDgjK7y7TUQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > arabhass > Date: Tue Sep 26, 2006 7:19 pm (PDT) > > Hi, > > I've started using editlpus to access files on a Mac Mini > that we > access via ftp (we run a windows network). That's sounds like a good idea. --- In editplus-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Aleem Juma" <aleem.juma@...> wrote: > > Another option would be to finish loading all files it can find, then > come up with a single error message listing all the files that failed > to load. > > On 27/09/06, Getafixx <getafixx@...> wrote: > > Is it only me that gets annoyed at the way the on start up document > > loading handles missing documents? > > > > If I have 20 documents open and 5 of them are missing, editplus pops up > > a dialog box saying "can't find X do you want to create a new file", > > what ever the answer, you get another box saying "do you want to carry > > on loading working files". > > > > It is this question that bugs me, as I always want to reload all files, > > and I think that this should be made into an option to just either do it > > or not do it. > > > > If you click on no don't create a blank doc, your mouse is right over > > the NO button for "do not continue to load working files" and I tend to > > click this too many times and it is beginning to bug me. > > > > I also think that the files it can't find should be opened in a virtual > > way maybe with a blank file and tagged as pending, pending the > > portable/network drive to be reconnected, or come back on line. Re: document reloading on startup

I think that the virtual file idea, as you've described it, is too complex and error-prone. What about EP asking if you want it to remember the "missing" files and adding them to the list of open files when it closes? --- In editplus-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Getafixx <getafixx@...> wrote: > > Is it only me that gets annoyed at the way the on start up document > loading handles missing documents? > > If I have 20 documents open and 5 of them are missing, editplus pops up > a dialog box saying "can't find X do you want to create a new file", > what ever the answer, you get another box saying "do you want to carry > on loading working files". > > It is this question that bugs me, as I always want to reload all files, > and I think that this should be made into an option to just either do it > or not do it. > > If you click on no don't create a blank doc, your mouse is right over > the NO button for "do not continue to load working files" and I tend to > click this too many times and it is beginning to bug me. > > I also think that the files it can't find should be opened in a virtual > way maybe with a blank file and tagged as pending, pending the > portable/network drive to be reconnected, or come back on line.
