I personally use Editplus on my development machine and only can crash it while opening huge files or doing stupid things. I rely on this feature pretty heavily in VIM and it is the only thing keeping me from forking over the $30 for the EditPlus license. For example, if I search a file for "and" I would like every occurrence of the string "and" to be highlighted simultaneously. The default behavior of EditPlus is that only one occurrence of a string is highlighted at a time. Maybe I just don't do enough serious editing, but I haven't had any problems with it at all. It does have the code folding option now, I'm sure that introduced new bugs.
