Not always - Often when making major changes to a project I create a full
copy of it, and the first directory is the only one which differs. But at
least your current proposal fixes my common situation where I have two
versions of a file open (one on my laptop, the other on a mapped network
drive) and the one which has path information varies depending on how they
were opened.
