My ideas about this issue:

 * set subscribers only on conglomerate@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx immediatly
  that list currently only collects spam.
 * set subscribers only on conglomerate-auto@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  for the very seem reason, but take care that postings
  from bugzilla.gnome.org and cvs.copyleft.no (website CVS) are allowed.
 * hold a small poll for conglomerate-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
   before setting it to subscribers only.

Advertising will never go away.
(those annoying spammers think they are only advertising)
As long people make some money after a (low cost) advertising (spam) run,
there will be spam.

Have you seen off-list E-mails from hpj & me about
my offer to do maintaince on the conglomerate mailinglists?
