so now rebooted the system, I see the md_mod loaded and madam --monitor running

Would this bring it up: sudo vgchange -a y
not sure why it's not auto-activating

After more work I just realize what's wrongthere is no need to adjust /etc/modules nor the lvm scriptthe file /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf is the file to adjust!1. make sure DEVICE has the appropriate entry
mine reads: DEVICE /dev/sd[cdefg]2. make sure the ARRAY is activate, add the ARRAY entry witj the correct raid device and UUID (the output from mdadm --detail --scan, or grab the output during the mdadm --create)
mine reads:ARRAY /dev/md0 UUID=e47d156e:a06e8aa2:2c836167:071318efHope this will help other-lsOn Fri, Dec 10, 2010 at 2:47 PM, sgheeren <sgheeren@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:

[ec2ubuntu] small or medium AMD64 Ubuntu 8.04 LTS AMI possible?
Newbie question: I've read that i386 Ubuntu AMIs are for small or medium EC2 instances, while x86 and AMD64 Ubuntu AMIs are large or extra large. Is there some way I can provision a small or medium AMD64 Ubuntu 8.04 instance? (Do I need to create my own AMD for this purpose?)
