Orinoco_cs hangs the system: msg#00008

Subject: Orinoco_cs hangs the system
Hi

I have following problem with orinoco driver. I try to run Cabletron
RoamAbout DS on Mandriva 2005 with kernel 2.6.11-6mdk. The pcmcia was
installed with the system from package pcmcia-cs-3.2.8mdk. The orinoco
driver in kernel is of version 0.13e. When I insert the card the whole
system hangs. When I remove
from /lib/modules/2.6.11md/kernel/drivers/net/wireless the packd
versions of modules (*.ko.gz) the system does not freeze but there are
kernel errors that orinoco_cs cannot be loaded due to lack of *.ko.gz
files. I also applied the patch for 2.6.11 kernel from Kismet web page,
but the same thing happens. I also tried the 0.15rc3 drivers. Compiled
them, copied the modules
to /lib/modules/2.6.11md/kernel/drivers/net/wireless and the same. When
there exist the *.ko.gz files (gziped version of *.ko module) the system
hangs, when i remove them - error due to lack of them. When I leave only
the *.ko.gz and remove *.ko versions - error due to lack of the *.ko
version.

Please help me. I'm trying to run this card on linux for over two months
without any succes.
