Pavel (and/or others), could you give the latest for_linus branch a
whirl. I've just implemented a better way of avoiding the
readw()/writew() warnings - no ugly and potentially unsafe cases.
I've also put in sparse qualifiers to match. It still needs to be
converted to ioread()/iowrite(), but this is a step in that direction.
Compiles fine, and sparses almost clean (I don't understand the
remaining warnings, which are unrelated to this change), but I no
longer have a suitable setup to test.
