Here is the experience (I worked on old systems and softwares)
Card : WaveLan Turbo 11Mb silver
Firmware : 4.52
OS : redhat 7.3 - kernel 2.4.18
libpcap : 0.8.3
ethereal : 0.10.3
orinoco driver : 0.09b + monitor mode patch
A few things to note:
1. make sure that ethereal uses new pcap headers.
2. use "iwconfig eth0 rts xxx" to enable the rts/cts. Then if the size
of a packet > xxx, rts/cts/ack will be seen.
3. I worked in ad-hoc demo mode.
