Subject: vctc link not working on 2.4.19 under VM - msg#00005
List: debian.ports.s390
Greetings;
I can't get my ctc link to work. As far as I can see
everything is setup as it should be but I can't talk
to either my VM stack, or through it to either of
my other two linux guests.
One of them is a Marist distrib, and the other is a
TurboLinux. All the routes are "the same" and the
other two can talk just fine. Just can't figure this
one out.
BTW, I upgraded from the 2.4.17 kernel, and the link
through my OSA card is working just fine!
Many TIA!
Dennis

arts build failure
Can whoever happens to maintain the s390 buildd check the config.log of
arts package to see why it fails to find the xlibs-dev files. It built
fine on arm so I have no idea why it would be failing on s390.
Please cc: on response.
Thanks,

vctc link not working on 2.4.19 under VM - followup
Greetings again;
I rebooted and now neither link, eth0 or ctc0, is activated at boot.
I can bring up the ctc by hand, setup the routes, and wonder of
wonders, it works!
However, if I try to do anything to the eth link I get the following.
ifconfig eth0
Starting lcs module $Revision: 1.132 $ $Date: 2002/04/30 19:13:38 $
with chandev support, with multicast support, with ethernet support, with
token ring support.
debug: lcs: new level 0
drvr globals not in list 01c8b000
lcs_probe kmalloc failed
No lcs capable cards found
Terminating lcs module.
eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found

00: OSA 070F ON OSA 070F SUBCHANNEL = 0001
I changed my /etc/network/interfaces file and here it is
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.80.20.33
netmask 255.0.0.0
network 10.0.0.0
broadcast 10.255.255.255
up ifconfig eth0 mtu 1492
gateway 10.80.20.1
# The second network card - this entry was created by hand
iface ctc0 inet static

netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.150.0
pointopoint 192.168.150.31
up ifconfig ctc0 mtu 1492
up route add -net 192.168.150.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw
192.168.150.31
gateway 192.168.150.31
Hope this helps!
Many TIA,
Dennis
