Sorry then.
Did you describe the problem to the maintainer somehow before? If not,
just submitting a bug with an explanation of 'Here is a solution' and
then pointing to a website might make your patch being overlooked. If
you have a patch, it's better to include it (inline or attached) in the
bug report.
