Subject: gnucash - msg#00160
List: debian.ports.alpha
Hi,
does anyone know why there is no gnucash for alpha available?
Is there something which prevents it from compiling or has it simply not
been uploaded?
I would rather install gnucash from a .deb than have to compile it my
self, since gnucash is known to be dependent on millions of other -dev
packages which make it difficult to compile.
Thanks,
Andrew

I tried the package recently backported (v. 1.8) which supposedly had
a "clean" toolchain, but it failed. I am be really interested in
gnucash myself :-))
If you should succeed building from source (on woody ?) then please
tell me, though looking at my attempts it likly fails as well.

mpatrol and undefined __mp_initsection
Has anyone successfully used mpatrol under Woody?
When I tried to link a simple C test programme to mpatrol using
gcc -o test test.c -lmpatrol -lelf
I got the error message
/usr/lib/libmpatrol.so: undefined reference to `__mp_initsection'
In the BTS I found bug #165903 from last year which reported that the
mpatrol --dynamic option does not work on Alpha because
__mp_initsection is undefined, but it seems to imply that it would
work without the --dynamic option. Does it work? Am I doing something
stupid?
