I have a server with a 2.6.5 kernel and every time the server load grows
I have problems with some services like slapd or courier (I have POP3
validation against ldap), my mail client tell me that the password is
not valid.

It only happens when the server load is high with I/O, I tried the 2.6.2
kernel but switch off to 2.4 because this bug, now I tried again the 2.6
kernel but I have the same problem and I can only think in preentive
option as the source of the problem.

Tomorrow I will try compiling my own kernel with the same options you
have but the PREENTIVE one.

I think you should prepare non desktop kernels for servers.
