This isn't (to my understanding) a deficiency or limitation in FreeTDS that will some day be fixed, it's just the way the protocol works. "Work arounds" implies to me that these are temporary band-aids until something better comes along. In reality, the examples you give are just the right way to do this sort of thing in this programming environment. It's kind of like if someone asked, "How do I get a goose to lay golden eggs, so I can get rich?" Instead of answering, "Well, the workaround for this limitation in geese is to get a job and work hard for your money," I would instead say "What you're trying to do is silly. Get a job instead." > How do I work with multiple consecutively active result sets? I think some language might be useful here, instead of just diving in to the examples. Perhaps part of Bill's language might be better applied here. > o Perl ----------------------------------------- The information contained in this transmission may contain privileged and confidential information and is intended only for the use of the person(s) named above.
