I think that the problem is that DBD::Sybase is built with the Sybase
libraries, not with FreeTDS, or at least that it is picking up the
Sybase libraries at run time.

Try rebuilding DBD::Sybase (1.01 should work fine) by setting SYBASE to
/usr/local and making sure that SYBASE_OCS is unset.
