perl sybase driver problem: msg#00231db.tds.freetds
Please mail this address, as I probably wont be able to read the mailing list. I installed freetds to allow me to connect to a mssql 2000 database. The installation went well and all tests passed when i ran 'make check'. tsql can succesfully connect to the database and i can run queries. the problem: i want to use perl DBD::Sybase to connect and run queries, but I keep getting errors. I have installed the latest DBD::Sybase, which didn't work because it was asking for config files. I reverted to 0.91 version of this driver which seems to get further, but still doesn't work. Does this driver use the freetds libs? Does the freetds.conf get used at all when using the sybase driver? below is the error that I am getting now. DBI 1.38-ithread dispatch trace level set to 2 -> DBI->connect(dbi:Sybase:server=RATIONAL_DB, clearquest_admin, ****, HASH(0x4001cfa4)) -> DBI->install_driver(Sybase) for hpux perl=5.006001 pid=589 ruid=1000 euid=1000 install_driver: DBD::Sybase version 0.91 loaded from /u/vobadm/perl/lib/site_perl/5.6.1/PA-RISC1.1-thread-multi//DBD/Sybase.pm <- install_driver= DBI::dr=HASH(0x4012fbcc) -> connect for DBD::Sybase::dr (DBI::dr=HASH(0x4012fbcc)~0x400392e4 'server=RATIONAL_DB' 'clearquest_admin' **** HASH(0x401d5bec)) thr#4001bcd8 OpenClient message: LAYER = (7) ORIGIN = (2) SEVERITY = (6) NUMBER = (6) Message String: ct_con_alloc(): unable to get layer message string: unable to get origin message string: error string not available ct_con_alloc failed at /u/vobadm/perl/lib/site_perl/5.6.1/PA-RISC1.1-thread-multi//DBD/Sybase.pm line 73. <- connect= undef at DBI.pm line 585 -> errstr in DBD::_::common for DBD::Sybase::dr (DBI::dr=HASH(0x4012fbcc)~0x400392e4) thr#4001bcd8 <- errstr= undef at DBI.pm line 588 DBI connect('server=RATIONAL_DB','clearquest_admin',...) failed: (no error string) DBI connect('server=RATIONAL_DB','clearquest_admin',...) failed: (no error string) at ./test.pl line 15 -> DESTROY for DBD::Sybase::db (DBI::db=HASH(0x401d5c1c)~INNER) thr#4001bcd8 DESTROY for DBI::db=HASH(0x401d5c1c) ignored - handle not initialised <- DESTROY= undef at DBI.pm line 645 -> $DBI::errstr (&) FETCH from lasth=HASH >> DBD::Sybase::dr::errstr <- $DBI::errstr= undef Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at ./test.pl line 17.
