As many small Open Source projects release is scheduled when it's ready
:)
As you can see in TODO there are still some issues to finish.
Code is quite stable using single-byte encoding + GNU iconv but it's not
a release.
About what you can do... it's a hard question at this time of
developing... if you are not involved in developing I'll avoid to try to
code some missing issue, however you can test CVS with different
configurations, this will help shorten RC/beta phase. Reviewing
userguide will help (see TODO for some hints).
