That's enirely correct, FreeTDS does not support multiple active 
statements, because SQL Server itself does not support them.

You can easily work around this by opening multiple connections.

I know this because this has been by far the most frequently asked 
question since the mere 1 month I've been subscribed to the list. :-)
And I'm not even at all interested in having multiple active statements.
