Multiple Active Statements

I have:
Mandrake 9.1
Apache 2.0.44
PHP 4.3.1
FreeTDS 0.61
unixODBC 2.2.4

Can i use multiple active statements?

In PHP when i try this code:
<?
...
$rs1 = odbc_exec($idconn,$sql1); 
$rs2 = odbc_exec($idconn,$sql2); <--- error
...
?>

I obtain this error:
Warning: SQL error: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Option
value changed, SQL state 01S02 in SQLExecDirect

How can I solve this problem?
