Re: Compile problems with AIX 5.0: msg#00173db.tds.freetds
Rick, Hi this is Mark from Chubb - we have installed and customised FreeTDS on AIX 5.1 and successfully tested with MS SQL Server 2000 (plus installed and tested unixODBC) - but it took a little time. The tsql ( FreeTDS) and isql (unixODBC) both work with some effort. We did the following:- 1 Downloaded freetds-0.61 (then gzip -d freetds-0.61.tgz) 2. Downloaded GNupro to get gcc (AIX Linux tools) 3. Configure with tdsver and unixODBC 4. Use make not gmake 5. Use ibtdsodbc.so.o for ODBC ("ar -t libtdsodbc.a" to find and - use "ar x libtdsodbc.a" to un-archive - goes in odbcinst.ini Give me some details of your set-up and how far you are! Regards, Mark Heares.
