By default SQuirreL uses a DailyRollingFileAppender log4j appender in
log4j.properties and sets the frequency of roll-over to weekly using
the pattern:

'.'yyyy-ww

So it shouldn't be growing indefinitely. However, if you would like
it to rollover more frequently than once a week, that is possible
according to this document:

'.'yyyy-MM-dd Rollover at midnight each day.
'.'yyyy-MM-dd-a Rollover at midnight and midday of each day.
