There is an option in the ISeries driver to prevent this problem, which can be set via Squirrel's driver properties.

Sorry, I have no AS400 as home, so I cannot find the real nome of the property.  I'll check next week at work if your problem is not solved.

It is something  like 'convert binary', or treat binaries as characters...
It will be rather clear once you check the list of properties.

Subject: [Squirrel-sql-users] values showing up as hex.

I have just started using Squirrel.  I am attaching to an iseries/as400 database.  When I run a simple SQl query, my data shows up as Hex.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?
