Re: data not showing in query result pane: msg#00004db.squirrel-sql.users
Thanks Rob, SquirreL is one of the best OpenSource apps I've ever used. I haven't used TOAD a single time so far on this project. Here's another workaround I used. getclobval(). "input" is the column name and is indeed an XMLType though in Oracle 9.2.0.1.0. select w.input.getclobval() from ws_report w where operation='addOrder' and success=0 and db_date_added > sysdate -1 Best wishes, TimJowers -----Original Message----- From: squirrel-sql-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:squirrel-sql-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Robert Manning Sent: Saturday, June 09, 2007 2:23 PM To: Jowers, Tim Cc: squirrel-sql-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Squirrel-sql-users] data not showing in query result pane On 6/8/07, Jowers, Tim <tim.jowers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I query a table with some XML input and XML output in it but do not get the > text from the database. If you are using Oracle, then for now you can use XMLSERIALIZE(CONTENT(<xmltype>). For example: create table XMLTable (doc_id number, xml_data XMLType); insert into XMLTable values (1, XMLType('<FAQ-LIST><QUESTION><QUERY>Question 1</QUERY><RESPONSE>Answer goes here.</RESPONSE></QUESTION></FAQ-LIST>')); -- yields (Unknown 2,007) SELECT xml_data FROM XMLTable -- yields '<FAQ-LIST><QUESTION><QUERY>Question 1...' select XMLSERIALIZE(CONTENT xml_data) from XMLTable Rob ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
