Re: Oracle problems: msg#00042db.squirrel-sql.users
Hi Rob, The problem is not the opening it self. I can change the settings, the behaviour remains the same. I guess it has more to do with the query of the content resp. row-count. And I wonder, if they are executed in a thread. resp. if one Thread blocks another one (e.g. query of a SQL is hardly possible when the Row-Count is not finished yet, or the whole app crash, when I try to use the Content-assistent). Since I know this problem, I can take care little bit. Nevertheless it is annoying that the Object-Pane interferes with the queries. Seems like no Threading resp. not very well designed Threading is there. If it is for help of anybody, I can provide as well logs. IFF I know, how to get them and whom to send. :) LeO Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2006 11:16:39 -0500 From: Rob Cope <rob@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [Squirrel-sql-users] Oracle problems To: squirrel-sql-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <84A3D5EB-1356-4DBA-B685-05A8200B4076@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; delsp=yes; format=flowed One thing that helps is to open the alias properties and set it to only load the schema(s) that you will use. Also, it really helps to tell it not to load procedures. Those can take a very long time to load. Beyond that, doing a query that returns 100+ rows does seem to take a long time to load the data into the table. I have not found a workaround for that.
