using my.ini to change the default instal path: msg#00096db.mysql.windows
Hi, I am instaling mysql into a directory other than C:/ Your instalation notes say that I must create a file called my.ini or my.cnf in my c drive, pointing to the appropreate directory where my sql is installed. This would be fine, bar I dont have a C drive, its called an F drive. Please could you direct me how I would get around this problem. My sql is instaled in W:/mysql I am running windows XP I use IIS 5.1 as my webserver. Id would appreciate a fast response as the server that hosts my site depends a large part on sql, and we have been undergoing server changes, and the last step to gettting the site to a workable state depends on getting sql working !! Many thanks - James [ xsonspirisist ] _________________________________________________________________ It's fast, it's easy and it's free.
