MysqlDump question

MySQL MySQLDump

What does it mean if I can successfully run a mysqldump command to dump a
database without having to supply a username or password switch.
I am sure I have created the correct users/priveleges..
Does it just mean that I have given public read access to the database (as
you would need to do for a website db)? or is there something else I need to
have done?
