Regarding b), c) and d) above, in case other community members wonder
what I'm talking about, take a look here (Subversion needed):
  svn log -r200:HEAD http://svn.mysql.com/svnpublic/connector-odbc/
versus:
  svn log -r200:HEAD http://svn.mysql.com/svnpublic/connector-net/
