Delphi DBGrid

Hello

I dont know If I am doing anything wrong, but here goes:

I have a mySQL Query with a datasource connected toa DBGrid (standard Delphi),
but when I do a 'SELECT .......... FOR UPDATE', I cannot update the grid.

Before the SELECT clause, I do a START TRANSACTION and when the data
is OK then I do a COMMIT.  In between the START TRANSACTION and COMMIT I want 
to 
be able to update some rows and columns MANUALLY in the DGGrid.  I cannot do
this.

What can I do to rectify this ?
