Hi Stuart: First, don't worry about return to Access + V. Basic. We are a hundred thousand, -or more perhaps- people that works with similar solutions, and the experience is very good. About your problem, did you try create DSN directly from Control panel->system tools->ODBC?. If the answer is not, try please, that perhaps is the problem.
