myODBC verses [NT] ODBC/DSN

Environment:
        Location A: Linux/PHP 4.3.4/mySQL - through hosting company
        Location B: NT/ DSN [ODBC]/MS SQL     [Has real IP address]

Objective: Using PHP [at Linux] to connect NT/DSN/MS SQL

Constrains: At Linux end - being shared hosting environment, freeTDS
                  or other drivers can not be loaded and PHP can not be
                  re-compiled or complied. Though, currently phpinfo() shows
                  unixODBC.

Please suggest by installing myODBC on NT and configure DSN to MS SQL,
whether I would be able to connect MS SQL from mySQL using something like:

  mysql_connect("IP_address_of_NT", "DSN_at_NT", "login_of_DSN", 
"Password_of_DSN");

Otherwise, please suggest alternatives.
