Red Hat AS 3.0 and ODBC

Anyone try to use MySQL & ODBC with Red Hat Advanced Server 3.0?
By default AS 3.0 seems to use /usr/lib64/libmyodbc.so which would be 
fine but my other apps don't seem to recognize this.
I can run RedHat's GUI "ODBCConfig" and "DataManager" and yes I can 
connect to a remote MySQL  server see the tables, etc. all from Red 
Hat's GUI.

Here's an example of things not working:

AS gives the following message:

Could not load /sas9/sasexe/sasodb (38 images loaded)
Error: libodbc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or 
directory

I had another application complain with the same message, that 
"libodbc.so" could not be found.
Anyone see this error before?  Help is appreciated!
