Kim,

from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/string-syntax.html

"If the server SQL mode has ANSI_QUOTES enabled, string literals can be quoted only with single quotes. A string quoted with double quotes is interpreted as an identifier."

Best regards,
Mike

Hi
Just try a
Select ... where factorydate< UNIX_TIMESTAMP("2005-07-06")
failing with an error :
unknow column '2005-07-06' in where clause errorno 1054

But will only accept
Select ... where factorydate< UNIX_TIMESTAMP('2005-07-06')

" and ' ,,, should that not be the same ??
