Username size limitations: msg#00360db.mysql.devel
heya I just wanted to know if there was any explanation about having the username length fixed to 16 as said in include/mysql_com.h : include/mysql_com.h:#define USERNAME_LENGTH 16 This kinda bugs me for one of my application where i need way bigger logins. I've tried recompiling with USERNAME_LENGTH defined to 80 but mysql keeps segfaulting. At first, before going into the code i thought it was dynamic, following the user table's User field size but it doesn't obviously. Any insight on why and if there's no particular reason, any idea why it's not being worked on to be more flexible ? Maybe it's in the TODO list but i've just tried 4.0.12 and it's the same..
