I am system administrator
here we have problem with second procesor on backend server
* description:
machine : Dell PowerEdge 2550
OS : Slackware 8.0
Mysql : Ver 3.23.51 for slackware-linux-gnu
- about one month ago we bought second processor, after that we compiled
kernel in SMP mode
everything was fine until huge load accured
without SMP everything works fine even by huge load
but with SMP we have big problems, numers of mysql deamons are groving very
fast (about 1 minute period) after that system is stalled - cannot fork
errors
this happend only by the big load hours, at night this server lifes normal
* what we have done
- compilation of new kernel 2.4.18
- compilation of new kernel 2.4.9-34
- compilation of new kernel 2.4.3-12dellsmp
- newest MySql version
and we still do not have any solution how to break this deadlock
