Well, i use ubuntu dapper too, and realized that the mysql++ packages there
are somewhat old.

I have built my own package with checkinstall and it works really fine, no
problems until now.

Yes I think you should, at least now install via source.

Nop, It worked just fine....
Do you think compiling from source, will fix the problem?
