I think this is a reasonable request.  Any objections to adding this
to mysql++.h:

#define MYSQLPP_LIB_VERSION 200 // version 2.0.x of the library

This would be incremented like this:

#define MYSQLPP_LIB_VERSION 201 // version 2.1.x of the library

etc. and would allow:

#if MYSQLPP_LIB_VERSION >= 200
blah
#else
...
#endif
