I have experienced the same problems as well. However, for a temporary fix,
I found that using the lines the Makefile uses seems to do the trick...
although it is a lot more to type and didn't have the result i was hoping
for though :-\ but it does work :-)

If anyone else replies to this message with a way to use g++ or gcc, please
cc a copy to me :-)
