Don't worry, as this is only needed for the GUI.

Apparently it is taking this line (155) from mdbtools.h as a definition
rather than a declaration:
  extern GHashTable      *mdb_backends;

I don't know enough about the compiler or linker in your environment to
understand *why* this might.  Even eliminating the need for mdb_backends
in mdbtools.h wouldn't solve your problem.
