It is easiest to start the server through dbmcli and then attach to the server process. If you want to debug the startup phase, you can also start gdb with usr/pgm/kernel. At the gdb prompt, start the kernel with 'run <database-name>'. You should also set the source search path of gdb to $WRK/fast/debug.
