AW: Data lost in MaxDB 7.5.0.23: msg#00250db.maxdb
Hi Dmitry, > Hello. > I have installed on the computer MaxDB 7.5.0.23. OS is linux FC2. > I have created a database and one table in it. > Set Log Writing parameter to OFF. > I began to add records into table by my perl script (to connect a > database i use unixODBC). > It takes 3 days. After this script call disconnect and terminate > successfully. > Result: Data area Used space = 36% (3.6 Gb) > I have tried to execute query "select count(*) from MyTable" and > start the perl script to add a new portion of the data. After > 10 minutes > db connection was broken. > Execution of query and script was terminated. > I have started Database Manager: database status is offline!...why? Please have a look into the file knldiag.err, which is located in the rundirectory of the database. If an error occured, it should be noted there. > I have set it status to online. > Result: Data area Used space = 6% (0.6 Gb) > Data was lost! Those records have escaped which were added in > first day. > (in second day i have set db status to offline and set it to online > again) > How this can be? Did the script executed a commit of it's transaction? If a transaction is open while the database is set to offline, this transaction will be rollbacked at the next restart.
