RE: Problems creating 64-bit version of "BuildTools"and MaxDB und er Solari: msg#00226db.maxdb

As far as I could see, there exist 64-bit > binaries for > Solaris/Sparc. How did you build them? I don't think ALL the tools need to be 64bit, just some libraries. I'm facing exactly the same problem when I try to build on HP-UX/IA64, the system builds the tools correctly but linking after against some 64bit 'dbmcli' p. ex. it will fail with "Invalid ABI"... Unfortunately Studio 10 (EA) is not (publicly) available otherwise I would help you. I have a nice AMD64 box here with Solaris 10/b72 but there's no compiler :-( Maybe the actual CVS toolchain is not ready for this so I'd try to use the .tgz version from the mysql website and try with that since all the maxDB builds, that are done for SAP are also done with this toolchains. If you'd like to try manually check the "toolvars-tt.pl" file, maybe there are some glitches about versions, there are quite some places where some specific Solaris version is checked (check my patch for Solaris9/x86 on ftp://ftp.aubi.de/pub/sapdb/MaxDB/diff_toolsrc_140404.diff what I had to modify to get the compiler recognized. Which what version did you try? If in doubts try Studio 7 CC (C++ 5.5) or Studio 8. When I'm back in the office I'll try on our box. Greetz, SIEGENIA-AUBI KG Informationswesen i.A.
