Yes, that worked, but it's weird. The database was created using this 
snippet:

echo "create database demo user..."
_o=`cat <<EOF | dbmcli -d $SID -u dba,dba
sql_connect dba,dba
sql_execute CREATE USER test PASSWORD test DBA NOT EXCLUSIVE
EOF`
-----------------------------------

from create_demo_db.sh and here it was specified in lowercase. Also, in 
ancient times (7.2.4.9 and 7.3.0.24) it worked in lowercase as well.



I will change my database driver plugin to first try it with the 
user-supplied case and then with uppercase.
